Job Description

This Master’s level behavioral health professional will provide mental health and social evaluations for a diverse group of clients.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Provide crisis evaluations, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with psychiatrists for patients experiencing emotional distress with chronic care conditions, serious mental illness, psychiatric disorders, co-varying disorders and urgent mental health needs
  • Coordinate scheduling for follow-up with the psychiatrist and with other clinical teams to provide efficient utilization of resources
  • Participate in on-going communication with the other clinical teams and attend staff meetings for case reviews as requested
  • Preference given to individuals with broad based work experiences, direct mental health services provision, crisis work, and leadership experience, treatment planning
  • Must be skilled in psychological assessment of individuals in various stages of psychological distress
  • Must be familiar with mental status exams and mental health diagnoses that correspond to ICD-9DM and DSM-IV TR manuals
  • Must be organized in functioning independently, work well with a multidisciplinary team, efficient in data gathering, good communication skills in order to effectively collect and transmit data between intrinsic and external sources
  • Articulate in presenting relevant findings that pertain to mental status and patient risk
  • Able to coordinate large amounts of information to prioritize findings relevant to treatment decisions and treatment plan development

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university and completion of clinical training hours necessary to achieve independent licensure
  • Valid unrestricted state Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of behavioral health diagnosis (DMS-IV-TR) and the state service delivery system
  • Demonstrates compliance with applicable social work and mental health care standards, regulations, statutes, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Must be skilled in psychological assessment of individuals in various stages of psychological distress
  • Must be familiar with mental status exams and mental health diagnoses that correspond to ICD-9DM and DSM-IV TR manuals
  • Exhibits a professional image in both appearance and behavior and maintains professional boundaries with clients
  • Demonstrates sound clinical judgments and decision making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as required
  • Adheres to ethical standards and maintains/protects client rights and confidentiality at all times
  • Possess current CPR certificate and Finger Print Card
